On Plagiarism

In exchange for having a nifty forum for getting my students’ work published, I edit the comic pages for the Great South Bay Magazine. The editor emailed me last week regarding these two cartoons. Some astute reader pointed out that these same exact gags appeared in a couple of Calvin and Hobbes Collections. I emailed back that the young man who drew these cartoons is eleven years old. This isn’t plagiarism, it’s practice. I think Bill Watterson would understand.

June 2012 Crossword

This is the crossword for the June Great South Bay Magazine 2012. It features artwork by three students. A year ago, Finn Ashworth drew the phenomenal Calvin balking at eating Spinach. Six year old Avi Jacobs furnished the little Kirby characters. One of my new favorite students, Zach Millman, drew the digimon monster.

Still no class May 5.
